Well tweezed eyebrows really open up your face and flatter your features, but over plucking can be disastrous and embarassing. Read this guide to become a plucking master!
Well plucked eyebrows can really flatter your features, and open up your eyes. It's important to know your eye shape before you start plucking anything. It is best to have your eyebrows plucked for the first time by a professional since they know what they are doing. This way, when you go to pluck your eyebrows yourself, you'll know where it is that needs to be plucked in order to replicate the look they achieved. It's vital that you don't overpluck, because it may take months (or even years) for your eyebrows to fully grow back! As a general rule, the space between your eyebrows should be as wide as your eye. Step One - Combing Your EyebrowsComb your eyebrows to assess which hairs are actually part of your eyebrow, and which aren't. If it's your first time plucking, use a white pencil to draw around the area of your eyebrow you want to shape. Doing this to both eyes will make sure they are symmetrical before you start tweezing, and will also help prevent any excessive plucking.
Step Two - Beginning, End, Arch Rule To find out where you should pluck in order to maintain your natural eyebrow shape use this rule. Beginning Your starting point for plucking is the inner corner of the eye. To find the correct starting position, take a pencil and hold it vertically against your eye. The beginning of your eyebrow should meet up with the inner corner of your eye. ArchMost brows have a slight arch. To find yours, hold the pencil at the end of your nose and hold diagonally so it crosses the outer corner of your iris and extends beyond it to your eyebrow. EndUsing a similar method to finding the arch of your eybrow, hold the pencil at the end of your nose again and hold diagonally so it crosses the outer corner of your eye and extends beyond it to your eyebrow. Step Three - Tweezing Time! Using a good pair of tweezers, pull the unwanted hair in the direction of growth. This way you ensure you pluck the hair from the root. After tweezing a few hairs, stop and step back to look and see what you have done, and where you should pluck next. Step Four - Finish Once you've finished, you can apply a special soothing gel (such as aloe vera) to reduce redness.
